3, 2016) – After four days of racing at
The Red Mile and Hollywood Gaming Dayton, overall leader Jay Hochstetler out-finished
two other handicappers to take weekly honors in the 2016 Hambletonian Society
Grand Circuit Handicapping Challenge sponsored by DRF
Harness, Green Acquisition Corporation, The Hambletonian Society, Hoosier Park Racing
and Casino, Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment, Northfield Park, The Raceway at Western Fair District, Red Shores
Charlottetown Driving Park, Tioga Downs, and Vernon Downs.
Hochstetler managed to lead the rest of the HANA Harness
handicappers this past week with his weekly score of 382.83 points followed by
Ray Cotolo with his 359.65, nosing-out Matt Rose (350.4) for the second
spot. Rose still remains on top for the
second half of the competition with a score of 1,296.48, just 119.33 points ahead
of overall leader Hochstetler who has managed to get himself back in the hunt
with his score of 1,177.15. In the show position
is Ray Garnett with his second half total of 979.55.
In the overall race, Hochstetler (2,966.25) rules the top
spot with a commanding lead of 567.73 points over Rose (2,398.53) while Adam
Friedland (2,152.45) is holding on to the final paying spot. Nipping at the heels of Friedland are Sally
Hinckley and Rusty Nash.
The handicapping contest continues this week with racing
Thursday (October 6) through Sunday (October 9) at The Red Mile. There is plenty of racing remaining in the
season as the contest concludes on November 28 at Dover Downs with the Progress
Pace.
